This tee is inspired by ✨Queen Boudica ✨
She united all the Iceni tribes after a series of brutal acts by the Romans. They enslaved Boudica’s daughters and other members of her family. This was the immediate cause of Boudica’s rebellion in AD 61. Boudicca's army successfully defeated the Roman Ninth Legion and destroyed the capital of Roman Britain, then at Colchester. They went on to destroy London and Verulamium (St Albans). Thousands were killed. Finally, Boudicca was defeated by a Roman army led by Paulinus. Boudica became a folk hero, and a symbol of freedom and justice, particularly during the Victorian era when her statue was commissioned.
